Alexandria Criminal History organizes those official paths so readers can identify the office that created the record and use the right request method. The site is privately operated and focuses on Alexandria, Virginia, which functions as an independent city rather than a county.

Why We Built This Site

Virginia does not place every part of a criminal matter in one file or one office. Alexandria Police Department Information Services handles local police products, while the Alexandria Sheriff maintains booking and confinement information. The Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court clerks keep their own case records. Statewide criminal-history information is maintained by the Virginia Department of State Police Criminal Justice Information Services Division through the Central Criminal Records Exchange. We built this site to make those lines of responsibility clear and to collect the official request routes in one place.
